Adila Hassim was born in 1972 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Natal. In 2017, Hassim became Lead Counsel in the Life Esidimeni Arbitration, representing Section 27 and the mental healthcare patients who died in the scandal.
